Bob Libbey has generated corporate brand growth, increased awareness and improved reputation by building successful practices in digital communications and social media, executive and employee communications at Fortune 500 companies over the past 30 years. Throughout his career, he has led strategic change through organization-wide collaboration that drives goals-focused alignment and results. Libbey is known for growing internal capabilities by building teams, processes and systems for sustainable excellence. He is passionate about improving content to boost business performance and maximizing technology for the most efficient content delivery and optimal engagement.
In his current role, Libbey leads content creation, curation, distribution, promotion, analytics and strategy for Bristol Myers Squibb’s (NYSE: BMY) internal and external corporate digital and social media platforms. Prior to joining the global biopharmaceutical company in the fall of 2016, he led digital and social, employee, executive and content creation functions at Pfizer over an 11-year period. Libbey has led the design, establishment and launch of content creation/curation and digital analytics systems, specialty web platforms and a leading intranet over the past 15 years.
He previously worked in executive, employee and corporate communications leadership positions in a variety of industries, including 17 years as a CEO speechwriter. He started his career as a reporter for Gannett Newspapers in New York, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in English.
Libbey has taught as an adjunct professor in New York University’s Public Relations and Corporate Communications M.S. program and has served as an advisor to Columbia University’s Information and Knowledge Strategy M.S. program. He speaks and writes on content, digital media and a variety of business communications issues.
